Mr. Melvin Chan graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a major in Sociology and a minor in History. After graduation, he worked as an assistant to a Member of the Legislative Council and studied law at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education and the University of Hong Kong respectively. He is now a partner of Tang, Wong, Chow, Solicitors. He strives to protect human rights through legal work and has been involved in a number of judicial review cases, including representing the students of the Student Report of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in overturning the judgement of the Obscene Articles Tribunal, and representing a prisoner in successfully fighting for the prisoner's right to vote, etc.
