Mr. Chong Yip Fung Participates in “SPC Power to Safeguard ” Event to Promote Elderly Legal Protection

Mr. Chong Yip Fung of our firm was invited to participate in the inaugural “SPC Power to Safeguard” event organised by the Hong Kong Police Force, where he provided pro bono legal consultation services for senior citizens to promote awareness of personal legal protection and elderly rights.

The event was held on 8 May 2026 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club under the theme of “Safety”, covering four major areas: national security, community safety, home safety, and personal safety. Approximately 300 members of the Senior Police Call scheme attended the event. Through interactive exhibitions and educational activities organised in collaboration with various professional bodies and organisations, the programme aimed to strengthen crime prevention and safety awareness among the elderly.

At the “Personal Safety” zone, The Law Society of Hong Kong and volunteer lawyers offered free legal consultations on the “Three Peace-of-Mind Instruments”, including wills, enduring powers of attorney, and advance medical directives — all important legal arrangements closely related to elderly care and future planning. Mr. Chong Yip Fung also answered legal enquiries on-site and assisted participants and their families in better understanding the importance of early legal planning.
