Relentless Pursuit of Justice
Our firm recently concluded a case of considerable significance, in which we represented a female survivor of sexual assault. The case involved a lengthy judicial process, during which we remained steadfast in our pursuit of justice. Although the Department of Justice initially decided not to pursue criminal charges against the perpetrator, with the trust and support of the victim's family, we proceeded to file a civil claim against the residential care facility “Bridge Rehabilitation Company (康橋之家)” and its director, Cheung Kin Wah. Through the civil proceedings, the court ultimately recognized the events that had transpired and issued a favorable judgment for our client.
During the enforcement phase of the case, both Bridge Rehabilitation and Cheung refused to comply with the court’s compensation order. In response, we lawfully initiated winding-up and bankruptcy proceedings. As a result, Bridge Rehabilitation has now been wound up, and the court has recently issued an order declaring Cheung bankrupt.
We are grateful to the court for its fair and impartial judgment of the facts, as well as to all those who contributed their efforts throughout this challenging process. We fully acknowledge the sensitive and painful nature of this case, and we respect the emotions and difficulties faced by the parties involved.
We fully understand that the law cannot resolve all problems, and no amount of financial compensation can truly heal the harm suffered by the victim. However, we remain committed to upholding the principles of professionalism, respect, and justice. We will continue to stand with those who need support, assisting them in seeking rightful protection and dignity through legal means.
